Much of the dating advice you hear and read about gives tips about the right way to act, the right things to say, and the right kind of mannerisms to display when meeting a a new woman for the first time. But what most of this dating advice miss out on is the fact that most men find it difficult simply to approach new women and strike a conversation. How do you get the confidence to talk to her?
It's true that it takes a little talent and a lot of practice to approach a new woman without turning into an emotional basket case. It's hard to show her what a cool cat you really are when you're feeling nervous. When you're all jittery on the inside, it'll immediately show on the outside, no matter how hard you try to act calm and composed.
But even these "jitters" can be dealt with if you keep practicing approaching new women, even ones you're not particularly attracted to. As with most other things, the more you do it, the easier it becomes. If you want to feel a little more confident when you approach the next hottie, you'll first need to learn to feel confident when walking up to women you don't find attractive.
In fact, you don't even need to be on the dating scene when practicing your approach. You can talk to any and all women you meet everyday - the lady behind the counter, the diner waitress, the department store saleslady. There's a world of great "practice material" out there - go out and hone your skills!
The more you "practice" approaching women, the more confident you'll start to feel around the opposite sex. You might even find yourself able to approach even groups of women to talk with the only one in the group you're attracted to. When you've tried approaching enough women, you'll soon get rid of the heebie-jeebies when you're really on the scene.
When practicing, make it a point to talk to at least four women each day (the more, obviously the better). Let's face it, you run into women all the time. Most of them won't mind saying one or two things to a strange guy, and you just might brighten up their day while you're at it.
You don't have to think of corny pick-up lines to practice with women. Ask for the time, tell a joke about the situation, or simply tell her, "Hi, I just wanted to say you look... beautiful. (smile) Have a nice day." If you can pull something like that off on an everyday basis, you'll be miles ahead of the competition.
