Winning Your Ex Back - When to Make That First Phone Call

Winning your ex back can be either the easiest thing in the world, or the hardest, depending on what you do to make it happen. One of the first questions you'll ask yourself after a breakup is when to call her for the first time. Most guys who have been dumped want to call their exes right away, to try to explain their side of things (or to convince her how wrong she was!), and/or to beg forgiveness. You may have even convinced yourself that she'll take you back if you can just get her to speak to you and listen to your side of the story.

Actually, when you're working on winning back your ex, you will definitely be calling her at some point. However-and this is BIG -WHEN you call her and WHATyou say when you do are far more important than the simple act of dialing her phone number. That's why you should NEVER call her until you're completely prepared and the time is right.

So, how do you know when to call and what to say?

A good rule of thumb is to wait until at least a month after the break-up before making that first call. This is important, because it will give her time to miss you, and will make it seem like you've got better things to do than just sit around pining for her. Just remember, the longer you make her wait, the more time she'll have to cool down, too, which is always a good thing. At the same time, you don't want to wait TOO long before calling, or else she might move on without you.

Knowing what to say when you talk is a whole other story. You've got to say the EXACT right thing in the PERFECT way on that first phone call, or your chances of being together again go right out the window. You've got to avoid fights at all costs during that first phone call.  Even the slightest hint of an argument brewing between you can doom your chances of happiness together. Keep it short, keep it civil, and plant the seeds for the future phone calls that will bring the two of you together again.
