What Did I Do Wrong on the First Date?

You dated. It went great - as far as you were concerned. You called her a day or two later and left voice mail asking her to get back to you. She didn't. It's been nearly a week now and she still hasn't returned your call. What should you do? Did you do something wrong? Should you call her again, or let it go? You really liked her, so it's hard to walk away? What did I do wrong?

This is all too often the situation with many young men. They think it all went smoothly, but after the date nothing happens, which suggests that it didn't go as well as the guy first thought. There are many possible reason why this might happen. It may not have anything really to do with you. It may just be her who is flighty and fickle. She may be the type of girl who hops from guy top guy, not ever knowing what she wants, and you may just have been in the wrong place at the wrong time.

It could equally be that she is a seasoned dating girl. She has seen it all and now she expects her dates to stand out from the crowd. Did you? Did you impress her enough? Were you different enough, or were you just like all the other guys - nice but boring? It's not your fault. What may have seemed pretty good to you may have been old hat to her. It's life.

Try to come up with ways to be different in a way that's exciting and not just plain weird. Try to be the different kind of guy. Aim to be a bit mysterious and don't let her read you like a book. be a gentleman of the old school. These days too many guys think that's old-fashioned. Girls like to be pampered though. Be different and make a mark on her. She'll be keen to answer your calls if you do.
